After installation VM fails to boot in VMWare using disk greater than 2TB

After installation VM fails to boot reporting Operating system not found.

During installation anaconda complains
WARNING You are using a GPT bootdisk on a non-EFI system, This may not work, depending on your BIOS's support for booting from GPT disks.
