EJB Timer with cluster aware database persistence for JBoss EAP 7

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Is it possible to have standard EJB timers (according to the EJB 2.1 / 3 / 3.1 spec) with failover in a cluster?
  • Is it possible to replace the file-persistence for EJB timer and use a different one?
  • I want to ensure that persistent EJB timers are executed even when nodes in a cluster are down, what I need to configure for this?
  • Does EAP 7 support fail-over for EJB timers? if yes, what configuration and infrastructure is required?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 7.x
