Do we still need to provision JAAS user in users.properties for PublickeyLoginModule ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I installed the RedHat JBoss A-MQ 6.2.0 using the JAAS modules (PropertiesLoginModule and PublickeyLoginModule) that came with the pkg. we got the broker (client connects to AMQ broker) to work with PropertiesLoginModule where we simply defined a JAAS user in ./etc/users.properties along with the appropriate user/role/privilege defined in the activemq.xml for authorization. My understanding is that a JAAS user must be defined in users.properties regardless if the client connects with or w/o username/password (I got this work in both scenarios).

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss A-MQ
    • 6.2.0
