Does EJB 3.1 applications require both annotations and ejb-jar.xml to deploy correctly in JBoss EAP 6?

• Does EJB 3.1 applications require annotations as well as ejb-jar.xml to deploy correctly in JBoss EAP 6. In my case I have to use both to run project. In my project when I don't use ejb-jar .xml, then it shows the below error :
