Why does gdm turns off numlock on login screen in RHEL7?

  • When a RHEL7 system(installed with KDE) boots, the numlock LED is lit. However, once the GDM login screen appears, the numlock LED goes out, and numlock is off.
  • What setting can be used to ensure that numlock is active when the GDM login screen comes up?
