Issue

  • SSHD service fails to start when certain chroot related parameters are defined in sshd_config. When parameters like Match, ForceCommand  are included in sshd_config, sshd service fails to start as follows:
    [root@xxx]# /etc/init.d/sshd restart 
    Stopping sshd:                                             [  OK  ] 
    Starting sshd: /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 123: Bad configuration option: Match 
    /etc/ssh/sshd_config: line 127: Bad configuration option: ForceCommand 
    /etc/ssh/sshd_config: terminating, 2 bad configuration options 
                                                               [FAILED]
