What settings can be changed without restarting whole the cluster?

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Data Grid (JDG)
    • 6.x

Issue

  • We want to change a setting of a JDG server one by one, without stopping the entire cluster. What settings are possible to change in that way?

Resolution

  • JDG cluster and its setting (specifically, clustered.xml) correspond one by one. All members should be stopped when you change any settings in principle.
  • While the logging setting doesn't affect any other members obviously. And effects like increasing timeouts and max-threads are local to the member. These settings can be changed one by one. Open a support case if you doubt.
