JBoss EAP management plug-in for JBoss ON incorrectly identifies EAP 6 based product as JBoss AS if product.conf is not accessible

Issue

  • EAP 6 instance is being recognized as JBoss AS

  • Server reports the following error:

    InvalidPluginConfigurationException: Failed to start component for Resource[id=10101, uuid=aabbc0d1-2234-56ef-a78b-c9012de34df5, type={JBossAS7}JBossAS7 Host Controller, key=hostConfig: /opt/jboss/eap/jboss-eap-6/domain/configuration/host-master.xml, name=AS Domain Controller (172.0.0.1:9990), parent=jboss-eap.example.com, version=AS 6.4.1.GA] - The original product type discovered for this server was AS, but the server is now reporting its product type is [EAP]

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.3
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6 management plug-in for JBoss ON
  • Affected JBoss EAP based product's <JBOSS_HOME>/bin/product.conf file is missing or cannot be read by JBoss ON agent process
