Issue
- Experiencing numerous apparently interrelated failures of samba
- Windows clients connected to Samba shares exhibit performance degradation to the point of data access being frozen
- Occasional GFS lock-up
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 4 Cluster Suite
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 (with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6 (with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
- GFS1 or GFS2 file system that is exported by Samba.
- NFS exporting from a directory in or above the same directory tree as the Samba share point
