Why does the "gnome-session" process failed to start on system ?

"gnome-session"process failed to start on system. When trying to start system in gui mode using startx command getting below error:(EE) config/hal: couldn't initialise context: unknown error (null) -
It seems
haldaemonis also not starting on system.
