Issue
- Periodic LDAP connection issues in combination with nscd
- When user is unable to login,
nscdreports the below error message in/var/log/message:
May 27 13:05:46 localhost nscd: nss_ldap: could not search LDAP server - Server is unavailable
- Intermittent login failures while using nscd along with nss_ldap
- Intermittent inability for
nscdservice to communicate/bind to ldap server
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4
- Authenticating against Windows Active Directory 2003 R2 using
nss_ldapandpam_krb5 - nss_ldap
- nscd
