Renewal of SSL server certificate with remote clients

Issue

  • In a couple of months we need to renew our SSL server certificate. We do have remote clients for which we cannot switch to the new certificate all at once. What is the best way to renew the certificate allowing different remote clients to use the old and the new server certificate in parallel up to the point where all clients have been migrated?
