Active/Passive JBoss EAP 6/7 clustering
Environment
- RedHat Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
- 6.x
- 7.x
Issue
- How to configure
active/passive
mode in JBoss EAP 6/7 High Availability cluster? - Is it possible in
active/passive
mode to start a passive cluster automatically when the active cluster is down?
Resolution
- Refer to JBoss EAP 6 Clustering to get details about Clustering in EAP 6. For active/passive review in EAP 7 referes to JBoss EAP 7 clustering configuration guide.
Active/Passive
mode means the load balancer will control the traffic flow while the active & passive clusters are both up at the same time. There is no way to start the passive cluster automatically when the active cluster is down, you have to start a passive cluster manually.
