running xfontsel and selecting liberation_mono font is crashing the X server in RHEL5

Issue

  • running xfontsel, and selecting fmly = "liberation mono", wght = "bold", and slant = "r" will crash the X server.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.7 and up
  • NVidia Proprietary Driver
