Issue

  • Trying to switch a systems base Red Hat channel to cloned channel, custom child channels get unsubscribed.
  • Custom child channels get unsubscribed while changing base channel for system from Red Hat provided channel to clone/custom channel.
  • 1. Go to "Systems" tab, Select system profile.
    2. Go to "System Set Manager" (SSM)
    3.  "Channels" -> "Base Channels" -> Select "custom base channel" from "Desired base channel" -> "Confirm  Subscriptions"

    Unmatched Child Channels 
     
    Some of the systems in your set are
    currently subscribed to the channels in the 'Old Channel' column below,
    but suitable matches for the following child channels could not be
    found under the proposed new base channels. As a result, the systems in
    the 'Systems Affected' column will be unsubscribed from the 'Old
    Channels' listed below. Please note that these systems may have
    packages installed that will no longer receive updates, including
    security updates, after their base channel has been switched. *
