RHEL 5 to RHEL 6 migration breaks gzip execution on NFSv3 mount exported from HP-UX server.
Issue
- Customer is mounting an NFSv3 export from HP-UX server.
- After migration from RHEL5 to RHEL6, custom scripts stop working as gzip fails while compressing files in a directory located on that NFS-share
- The failure occurs only when the owner of the file and user running GZIP have different UIDs.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- HP-UX All Versions
