What is the method of optimising KDE/Qt for use with a networked home directory ?
Issue
kde, qt and a few other GUI libraries insist on putting GUI user temporary/cache files in /home/user/[temp] instead of /tmp/[$user-*] - this means that access to them is only as fast as the network and GFS/NFS servers
