Volume group state was inconsistent after running pvmove command?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

pvmove command hangs and volume group went to inconsistent state.

pvmove /dev/sddlmaa1 /dev/sddlmbb1

# lvs -a -o +devices
  WARNING: Inconsistent metadata found for VG vg_share - updating to use version 675
  Missing device /dev/sddlmba1 reappeared, updating metadata for VG vg_share to version 675.
  Device still marked missing because of allocated data on it, remove volumes and consider vgreduce --removemissing.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • lvm2
