How to have a SwitchYard application only run on one FSW 6 server at a time

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have Fuse Service Works 6.0 installed on two separate VMs. There are a number of SwitchYard applications that we only want to have one instance running at any one time. So far, we've been managing this manually by having the application deployed to both servers, but only enabled on one and disabled on the other (that way, if we need to take a server down, we can start the application on the other server). However, there must be a better way of doing this!
  • What would be the recommended way to achieve this? Ideally, we would want the applications to automatically "failover", so if the server they are on fails, they automatically start up on the other one.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Fuse Service Works (FSW)
    • 6.0
