'mdadm -Es' does not show newly created devices and they're not being assembled on boot in RHEL when /etc/mdadm.conf contains a DEVICE line
Issue
- We have created new md's, but not able to find new entries after doing
mdadm -Es. We are able to find the new md's in/proc/mdstat. - Devices are not showing up in
mdadm -Esor being assembled on boot, but they're listed in/proc/mdstat
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5, 6, or 7
- MD RAID
/etc/mdadm.confcontains aDEVICEline with a value other thanpartitions
