My /boot partition has been deleted, how do I recreate this partition?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The /boot (/dev/sda1) was added to a logical disk volume by mistake, and all data under /boot is destroyed .
  • Used fdisk to create LVM device (added lvm flag) on /boot (multipath device from powerpath or DM-Multipath) . No pvcreate command was run on the device yet.
  • How can I reconfigure /boot with grub and kernel files?
  • Filesystem corruption deleted the files under /boot

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
