Modifying STRICT_MONITORING parameter for SAP Database resource caused restart in SAP Instance

Issue

  • Modified Sap Database resource using the below command

    # pcs resource update Database_resource_name STRICT_MONITORING=true

    After executing the above command Sap Instances were all stopped and restarted causing system outage

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (with High Availability and Resilient Storage Add-ons)
  • Oracle 12c
  • Sap Database
  • Sap Instances
