Issue

  • System takes ~10 minutes to boot, modprobe prints backtraces in netxen_init
  • Lengthy Server reboot : modprobe blocked for more than 120 seconds
  • After upgrading two servers yesterday we noticed that the reboot time of the servers seemed to be much longer than expected. Investigation via the console showed that server reporting messages like this:
kernel: INFO: task modprobe:10408 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
