How to send signal from one sub process to another?

Issue

Assume following Parent BPMN process definition:

                                          | --- SUB PROCESS 1 --- |
START - - - >  AND ---                                               --- AND --- END
                                          | --- SUB PROCESS 2 --- |

How to send signal from SUB PROCESS 1 to SUB PROCESS? What if multiple Parent processes are spawned - how to make sure that only SUB PROCESS from the same parent process will receive the signal? How to implement this using Per Process Instance strategy?
