"unknown NMI" error messages on HP ProLiant DL580 G5 running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7

Issue

After updating to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7, HP ProLiant DL580 G5 systems are showing the following unknown NMI errors in the logs:

kernel: Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 30.
kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
kernel: Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?

kernel: Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 20.
kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
kernel: Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?

This also results in instability under load or prevent the system from successfully booting.
