When booted off a qla4xxx device, upgrading from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 will cause the system to fail to boot up with the new kernel

Issue

  • Kernel boots and panics
  • Booting to 2 of the three installed kernels panics the box. The oldest kernel 2.6.32-131.17.1.el6.x86_64 is stable.
  • When booted off a qla4xxx device, upgrading from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2 will cause the system to fail to boot up with the new kernel.
