Are all the hardware components available on the "Customize It" and "Tech Specs" pages of the Dell PowerEdge M805, M905, and R905 servers certified to work with Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

Updated -

Red Hat is currently working with Dell on getting all of the hardware components listed on the online Dell store's "Customize It" and "Tech Specs" pages certified for use with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. However, there are a few components that have been granted temporary exemptions while we work towards this goal. While no major compatibility issues are expected, it should be remembered that the following components have not yet undergone a complete testing process under Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

R905:
  1. Qlogic QLE220 Fibre Channel HBA, Single Channel, 4Gb, Optical, PCIe

  2. Qlogic 2460 4Gb Optical Fiber Channel HBA, PCIe

  3. Qlogic 2462 Dual Channel 4Gb Optical Fiber Channel HBA, PCIe

  4. Emulex LPE 1150, 4Gb, Optional, Host Bus Adapter, PCIe

  5. Emulex LPE 11002 Dual Channel 4Gb, Optional, Host Bus Adapter, PCIe

M805:
  1. Qlogic QME2472 4Gbps Fibre Channel I/O Card

  2. Emulex LPE1105-M4 4Gbps Fibre Channel I/O Card

  3. Mellanox Infiniband I/O Card

  4. Dual Port FC8

M905:
  1. Qlogic QME2472 4Gbps Fibre Channel I/O Card

  2. Mellanox Infiniband I/O Card

  3. Dual Port FC8

  4. Emulex LPE1105-M4 4Gbps Fibre Channel I/O Card

Once the listed components above have all successfully completed a thorough testing process, this knowledge base will be updated to reflect their new status. For further information regarding the supportability of these components, please contact your Red Hat support representative.
