Kerberos ticket update on VM after login

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are using vdsClient desktopLogin command to authenticate on VM running rhel6.4 with rhevm-guest-agent 1.0.5 package installed. When the first login is performed we acquire valid kerberos ticket for logged in user on VM. This ticked is valid for 24 hours and is used by our scripts on that VM. When we perform vdsClient desktopLogin again (but with user has already been logged in) there is no kerberos ticket renewal. Is it possible to get new ticket on VM every time vdsClient desktopLogin comman is executed?
  • We need valid kerberos ticket all the time on VM for our scripts to work. We cant logout to gdm login screen to perform first time login with vdsClient and thus getting valid ticket. So we need to get it every time with vdsClient or somehow renew it upon expiration.
