Why does a kickstart installation on ESX guest fails with error "Unable to download the kickstart file. Please modify the kickstart parameter below or press Cancel to proceed as an interactive installation.".

Issue

  • The guest system can download the vmlinux and initrd files from the TFTP server but while pulling kickstart file it throws the following error:
"Unable to download the kickstart file. Please modify the kickstart parameter below or press Cancel to proceed as an interactive installation."
