yum --security update fails on SAP HANA server

Issue

  • yum --security update fails on SAP HANA server with the following message on the console
Error: Package: nss-3.18.0-5.3.el6_6.x86_64 (rhel-x86_64-server-6)
Requires: nss-softokn(x86-64) >= 3.14.3-22
Removing: nss-softokn-3.14.3-9.el6.x86_64 (@anaconda-RedHatEnterpriseLinux-201311111358.x86_64/6.5)
          nss-softokn(x86-64) = 3.14.3-9.el6
 Updated By: nss-softokn-3.14.3-12.el6_5.x86_64 (rhel-x86_64-server-6)
           nss-softokn(x86-64) = 3.14.3-12.el6_5

With respect to SAP HANA configuration guide, /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/versionlock.list contains the below entry

kernel-headers-2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.*
nss-softokn-freebl-3.14.3-12.el6_5.*
nss-softokn-3.14.3-12.el6_5.*
