How to extract messages in journals of a durable queue in qpidd broker?

Is there a way to extract messages from the broker store files?

This is sometimes needed for administrative/support reasons. Say a bunch of messages are pending on a queue for a long time. It might be useful to take a look at what the messages are.

If the messages are in the store file, are there any tools to take a look at them?

store_chk tool lets me look at the store/journal status but does not provide a way to actually extract the message payload.
