Why does ETHTOOL setting in ifcfg-XXX not work in RHEL7?

Issue

In RHEl7, Append ETHTOOL_OPTS="autoneg off speed 100 duplex full" to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-enp5s0, but there is no change after network restart.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • NetworkManager
  • ETHTOOL_OPTS in ifcfg interface configuration file
