Unable to use subscription manager if the NTLM proxy is used in between RHEL and RHN

Issue

  • Getting the error unexpected EOF during a new system Subscription Manager registration.
  • Further the existing servers are unable to display the "subscription-manager list --available --all" out put as it failed with the same error. However in this existing system yum repolist is working fine.
  • The above behavior observed after adding the NTLM proxy in the network.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 5.7 and newer
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 6.1 and newer
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 7.0 and newer
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 8.0 and newer
  • Red Hat Subscription-Manager
