chronyd reverses the system clock
Issue
- Can chronyd prevent the system clock from being stepped back for leap events?
- I observed this behavior: chronyd reverses the system clock when all of the following conditions are met:
- Using a timezone not supporting the leap second.
- When the leap second is inserted to the reference clock for chrony.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- 7
- 8
- chrony
