Crypto - kernel oops at insmod of the z90crypt device driver

Issue

  • On IBM z Systems z196, z114, and older machines, an issue has been recognized when using the Crypto Device Driver on RHEL6.6 (kernel 2.6.32-504-3.3 and 2.6.32-504.8.1). The generic look up of a valid domain does not work as expected and causes a kernel oops.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.6
  • System z196, z114, and older machines
