A 'gluster peer status' or 'gluster volume list' does not output anything, why?

Issue

• A 'gluster peer status' or 'gluster volume list' does not output anything.

• There are no outputs for any gluster commands such as 'gluster peer status' on an RHS node, even if the node seems to be up and running, which was confirmed from another node in the cluster.

• From the faulty node:

[root@rhs01 ~]# service glusterd status
glusterd (pid  16392) is running...

[root@rhs01 ~]# gluster peer status
<<no output>>
[root@rhs01 ~]# gluster volume list
<<no output>>

[root@rhs01 ~]# tail -f /var/log/glusterfs/cli.log
