Issue

  • Changed MAC addresses are not propagated to VLANs in bonding fail_over_mac
  • We configure VLANs over bond interface with fail_over_mac. During fail-overs, the MAC address of the new active interface is not propagated to the VLAN devices. This causes connectivity problems on the VLAN device.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6 and earlier
  • Bonding where bond MAC changes, for example with fail_over_mac=active
  • VLAN interface configured on top of bond, for example bond0.100
