Unable to access the rails console in a ruby 2.0 application on OpenShift

Issue

• When attempting to access the rails console within a ruby 2.0 & rails 4 application, the following errors are seen:

Gemfile syntax error:
/var/lib/openshift/54aaf5825973ca0042000061/app-root/runtime/repo/Gemfile:52: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting
$end
gem 'sdoc', '~> 0.4.0',          group: :doc
                                       ^
OR

bundler: command not found: rails
Install missing gem executables with `bundle install`
