A non-GFS or non-GFS2 file system fails to mount or work properly when managed by a clusterfs resource in a RHEL 5 or 6 High Availability cluster with rgmanager

Issue

  • I have configured a clusterfs resource for my ext4 file system, but its not mounting properly.
  • There's an error from the clusterfs resource that manages my ext3 file system
  • I get the error "File system type not supported" when starting my service with a clusterfs resource
rgmanager[1234]: File system type ext4 not supported

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • rgmanager
  • One or more <clusterfs> resources in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf with fstype set to something other than gfs or gfs2
