Kernel "BUG: soft lockup" while copy data with scp to CIFS-Share
Issue
- We use a CIFS share mounted from a NetApp NAS. When we copy (
cp) files local to this share everything works fine (75MB/s). - But when we use
scpto copy data from a remote server directly to the CIFS share, the server starts hanging, and after a while we get the following kernel message:
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#30 stuck for 64s! [rs:main Q:Reg:3020]
- We get the same result, when we copy (
cp) data from a mounted NFS share to the CIFS share instead ofscp.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.6 (
kernel-2.6.32-504.el6) - CIFS share on NetApp NAS (file copy destination)
scpfrom another system (file copy source)- NFS from another mountpoint (file copy source)
- CIFS and Samba package versions:
