Trying to creating files on an extended XFS filesystem errors out with no space left, why?

Issue

  • An XFS filesystem was extended online.
  • Files are not able to be created even after the resize, ending up in a situation previous to the resize.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0
