Randomly processes are hanging or in zombie state when cpuplugd daemon is running in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

• The Websphere related processes (java) are hanging. Process transition to defunct state if an attempt is made to kill the process. This prevents the webshphere from restarting as it says the port (8879) is in use by the defunct processes. Disabling the 'cpuplugd' daemon fixes the issue.
