EWS httpd errors when starting with SSL support

Issue

  • When starting httpd we see the following errors in httpd.log:
httpd: Syntax error on line N of $EWS_HOME/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: Syntax error on line N of $EWS_HOME/httpd/conf.d/ssl.conf: Cannot load $EWS_HOME/httpd/modules/mod_ssl.so into server: $EWS_HOME/httpd/modules/mod_ssl.so: symbol TLSv1_2_server_method, version libssl.so.10 not defined in file libssl.so.10 with link time reference

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
    • OpenSSL prior to package build 1.0.1e-15
  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) HTTP Server
    • 6.3.0
  • Red Hat JBoss Web Server (JWS)
    • 2.1.0
