JBoss contexts are not enabled correctly through mod_cluster at startup, resulting in 404s

Issue

  • Sometimes upon restart, we see 404s through mod_cluster. It looks like a REMOVE-APP is sent to httpd shortly after the ENABLE-APP, effectively disabling the application right after it was enabled and deployed.

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 5.1.1
  • mod_cluster 1.0.10.GA_CP01 and earlier
