RHEL6: vmtoolsd freezes filesystems then tries to open nfs4 which deadlocks nfsidmap trying to write process accounting file
Issue
The sever (VM) was upgraded to latest kernel 6.5 a couple of days ago. Since then, the VM would be hung every morning and we have to recycle it.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
- NFS4 filesystem
- VMWare vmtoolsd freezing local filesystems
