Why "/lib/firmware/radeon/XXX: No such file or directory" message is seen while booting the system after kernel ugprade ?

Issue

  • Only the Kernel was upgraded from 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 to 2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64 on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 update 3 system. Following messages were seen while booting
