Performance issues related to classloading in JBoss EAP 5.x

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are in the process of migrating JBoss 4.3 to JBoss 5.1. However our initial tests indicate severe performance degradation. We are seeing some classloading issues. Please deploy the test ear/jar files on your end for 4.3 and 5 and compare the results for yourself. There is huge jump in the performance. It looks like JBoss is not blacklisting the classes appropriately. The performance issue seems to be because of a beanshell Interpreter object being created with each request to our EJB.

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.1.2
  • JBoss Service Oriented Architecture Platform (SOA-P)
    • 5.2
