Using Red Hat Satellite 5.6 for configuration management and deployment, at random times, servers get blank/empty configuration files from satellite.

Issue

• Using Red Hat Satellite 5.6 for configuration management and deployment. At random times, servers get their configuration files (from satellite) being reduced to 0 bytes.
• To recover the server, we need to enter single user mode and re-sync with satellite using rhncfg-client get command.

• Why this happens and how to avoid this in future?

• Configuration files in /etc/pam.d/ on clients become empty at random times, which are deployed from the satellite. Also for example, not able to change to root since all pam.d files are emtpy now.
