Why can't a normal user build an rpm on a particular machine but can build on another machines?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • While building an rpm on a particular machine, getting the following error.
[testuser@localhost SPECS]$ rpmbuild -vv -bp --target i686 rpm.spec
Building target platforms: i686
Building for target i686
Executing(%prep): /bin/sh -e /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.FWVcMT
  • This user is able to create rpm on other machines, but not on a particular machine.
  • How can this happen?
