"cluster request failed: Resource temporarily unavailable" when trying to create a clustered LVM mirror in RHEL

Issue

  • Trying to mirror data across different storage devices in a cluster, and when I use the below command it errors out
    # lvconvert -m 1 vg00/lv00 /dev/mpath/mpath1p1 /dev/mpath/mpath2p1 --mirrorlog core
      cluster request failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
      Failed to lock lv00

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
